A) This is not a political post, 2) well maybe it is, but D) maybe it’s more about who we are depending on right now and not at all who we are voting for.

I’m sitting in my tiny arm chair with my leftover Halloween lights glowing over my shoulder and my favorite quilt on my lap. Despite how perfectly cozy I feel with my coffee in hand, I can’t help but wonder how many people would call this the calm before the storm. It’s Election Day. Of 2020 which adds and even heavier layer of ominous-ness. Except it shouldn’t.
In fact, as Christ followers, our peace should be overflowing into the guy next door. But that doesn’t seem to be the case, at least from my view. Instead, I’m watching Christians lead in politics instead of love. I missed where that’s written in scripture. So, I’m encouraging us all to check ourselves before you know what- we wreck ourselves. Because at the end of this day, (or whenever the votes are finally tallied) we should be able to say “No matter who becomes president, God is still love, in charge, mighty, all knowing, the true light, dependable, etc.”
Vote. Please vote. But do it according to Proverbs 3:6 and not what we think is right. “Seek first his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Because if we follow that advice, we can know that we can trust each other with our vote. In fact, who we vote for almost becomes irrelevant in the supernatural because God sets the kings. He removes and he places rulers. He controls the seasons-literal and figuratively.
Jesus said he is the light that leads to life! All we have to do is follow him. When we choose to live like this we can change a nation regardless of who is seated in the White House. Because when we bring the light of Jesus with us everywhere we go, everyone wins.
